A quarter of a century on from planting its first block, Andrew Peace Wines remains a proud family business and one of the largest family owned wineries in Australia. The Winery started as a weekend escape and transformed into a family passion. Through much toil of three Peace generations the 'country retreat' vineyard produced its first vintage in 1995 and a commercial winery was born. Every vintage since has accompanied another chapter of family life, such as celebrations, milestones and happy memories. 'The Murray River is the focal point for a wealth of things. Old paddleboats ply the waters, forests, historic towns, wildlife, olive groves and vineyards populate the banks. The Andrew Peace cellar door fronts the broad valley, next to the large, export-focused winery and a dam occupied by a noisy tribe of geese. Value is good in the wines made here, there's a barbecue, and a wood-fired pizza oven is available by prior arrangement. Andrew Peace's great coffee is famous throughout the region.'
