Your week with the group and guide starts on Monday morning, so you need to be in Melbourne by Sunday night at the latest

Day 2: Monday - Meet the Fam & Discover the City

Pass By: Melbourne, Melbourne, Victoria
You’ll get to know your new travel family first thing in the morning before we put you at total ease by organising your bank, phone number and tax file number. This means that you’re organised for life in Australia from the start!

After that it’s time for us to take you on a guided walking tour of Melbourne where you’ll learn why so many travellers love this incredibly diverse city.

We’ll end the day with a group Welcome Dinner along the iconic Yarra River in the heart of the city.

Day 3: Tuesday - Food, Drinks & Hidden Gems

‘Melbs’ is home to the Southern Hemisphere’s biggest open air market and it really is a treat for the senses.

After haggling a bargain and exploring the wonders of Queen Victoria Market’s many stalls, we will spend the afternoon in the most Melbourne way possible...

It feels like Melbourne has more food establishments than anywhere in the world so we think the best way to show you this is by taking you on an exclusive food and drink tour!

Not only do we fit a top secret inclusion into this day, we even manage a mini-tour of some of Melbourne’s most famous street-art spots. This is the most Melbourne day possible and our travellers love it each and every time!

Day 4: Wednesday - Road Trip: Beach, Wine & Penguins

Pass By: Mornington Peninsula, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria
It is time for our epic TWO DAY ROAD TRIP! We will be heading to Mornington Peninsula and Phillip Island, two of the most beautiful yet barely touched spots in Australia.

We’ll begin our journey with some much needed beach time before we take in some spectacular scenic viewpoints and taste some local wines from the area. From there the tunes are turned up as our road trip continues before we head into sunset to witness the smallest PENGUINS in the world emerge from the ocean and waddle across the beach. Yes, you read that right!

We will be staying overnight on Phillip Islandwhere you'll wake up to the sound of Australian wildlife.

Day 5: Thursday - Road Trip: Surf, Roos & Koalas

Pass By: Phillip Island, Phillip Island, Victoria
Australia is famous for its surf culture and today you’ll complete another Australian must do as you learn how to ride a wave.

This day includes a few hidden secrets along the way but all you really need to know is that today is the day you will get the chance to get up close to KOALAS and KANGAROOS. Another bucket list item ticked, two in one day!

Day 6: Friday - Work & Travel Help | St Kilda Beach

Pass By: St. Kilda Beach, Jacka Boulevard West St Kilda, St Kilda, Port Phillip, Victoria 3182 Australia
It is time to start thinking about what you’ll do next in Australia. In the morning we'll be having a presentation on EMPLOYMENT for everyone on a working holiday. We’ll cover absolutely everything before focusing on TRAVEL. We'll tell you everything you need to know about travelling this incredible country so you can make the most of your time on this side of the world.

October-March: Melbourne has many celebrated suburbs and St Kilda is as famous as they get. We’ll head to this quaint beach suburb taking in its iconic promenade, alfresco cafes and famous landmarks. The afternoon will be spent lazing on the beach and trying out paddle boarding.

April-September: Today we make our way to the Royal Botanic Gardens for an enriching and insightful Aboriginal Heritage Walk and Smoking Ceremony. For sunset we will journey up to the highest viewing platform in Australia; the incredible Eureka Skydeck.

Day 7: Saturday - Life Admin & Bar Crawl

Whether it’s employment, travel or both, the info from Friday’s presentations will have sunk in and this is your time to discuss your next steps with an AUSTRALIA EXPERT. Every traveller is different so that’s why you will have the chance to put your ideas and plans for Australia into action in a ONE ON ONE meeting that will help you with everything including employment, accommodation and travelling this beautiful country.

By the end of your meeting you will feel relaxed and excited about your future , meaning it's the perfect time to celebrate. How? By joining Melbourne's largest bar crawl of course!

Day 8: Sunday - Farewell & Rooftop BBQ

    A truly wonderful week,the welcome to travel group are fantastic and Clouds is a Don.If you're slightly nervous about solo traveling I would 100% recommend the package. They set up everything you need stress free and take you out on the most amazing trips. As you're grouped with other travelers you make new friends fast. I personally think I have made friends for life and have memories that will stay with me forever. Thank you Clouds and thank you welcome to travel!

    Thank you Welcome to Travel for the best week of my life when there is such uncertainty in the world with coronavirus. I genuinely loved every activity we did and now I have got 10 new friends who are running away to Cairns with me. Thank you to Billy for being the best (& most sarcastic) tour guide, you made my whole week and provided the bants. You are the hidden gem of this company and the best tour guide. If anyone is considering doing this tour, just book it, you won’t regret it. It was the best decision I’ve ever made, and the perfect start to my trip to Australia. It’s not only fun, but you get all the help you need to start a life in Australia. The week is jam packed with activities from surfing, to feeding Kangaroos and gelato tasting. Honestly the most incredible tour. Thank you again for the most memorable week. Xx

    For anyone heading to Australia this tour is a great way to settle into city life and find your feet in Melbourne. Every day was packed with a different activity and each activity helped the group bond with each other. The surfing and penguin parade were definitely my top highlights. We’ve all become very good friends because of this tour. The guides and help from welcome to travel was amazing, if there was ever a problem or concern, they did everything they could to help us. I especially want to say a massive thank you to Billy who was our guide (don’t be afraid of the beard, he’s softy at heart) and made us feel like Melbourne was a home away from home! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone thinking of traveling Australia, trust me you’ll have an amazing time!!

    I came to australia just as the coronavirus began taking over the world, and landed in Australia 6 hours before the self isolation rule kicked in, so only JUST made it onto this tour, and my god how lucky am I. I can honestly say this week was the best experience of my life, I met the most amazing people who I know are going to be family for life, and had the best tour guide ever in Billy, who became a friend to us all and kept our spirits up all week. The help and advice we all received from Darryl and Billy was amazing as we didn't know what to do because of the virus, and because of them we all managed to stay calm in the face of a very unknown and potentially scary situation. This trip was the best experience and the most amazing value for money, the outings, the food (dumplings and donuts omg) and the company was phenomenal. I cannot recommend this enough, thank you so much Welcome to Travel for absolutely everything.

    Today is the last day of the Welcome to Travel Tour, and I can honestly say it has been one of the best weeks of my life. Seriously, if you're ever planning on coming to Australia (whether it be for a year on a WHV or just for a couple of weeks to travel around) I'd highly recommend you doing this tour. You get your money's worth a 100% with all the activities and so much of the food and drinks included, and that's not even counting the incredible friendships and priceless memories that you'll make. You can really tell that the people behind WTT care so much about you having the best possible experience in Australia, and their knowledge of the travel industry is unparalleled. Our group had the last tour before they have to shut down because of the covid19-virus, but I'm so grateful that we still got to do most of the activities and that the team handled all the last-minute changes so well. Thank you so much to the Welcome to Travel team for organising this incredible tour, thank you Billy for being the literal best tour guide you could ever possibly imagine (he's such a gem), and thank you to everyone in my group for being such a lovely bunch of people who I never want to part with. It's been the actual best. ❤

    What an amazing tour. I was only able to experience part of it due to unforeseen circumstances but the time I spent with welcome to travel was incredible. I met the most amazing people and could not recommend this enough. Our tour guide (Billy) was so informative and helped us with everything and made the tour so special. I will definitely be coming back to experience the full thing!

    First time in australia and the experience that welcome to travel has given me personal is unreal hidden places you cant find on your own and the facts or story behind everything makes it so much more memorable I loved every second of the tour and especially cause we had an amazing tour guide ;) claudia is the best of the best made every moment enjoyable thank you so much and the life experience needed to live in Melbourne the knowledge is gonna come in handy thank you so much for everything you did for us 😁😁

    Anyone going to Australia either working holiday or just travel I cannot recommend enough booking your 8 day Melbourne arrival with Welcome to Travel! The best possible way to see the best spots in the city, visit the most beautiful areas in Victoria such as Philip Island and Mornington Peninsula, and most importantly meet new people and future travel buddies. Claudia as a local Melbournian was the most amazing and knowledgeable travel guide, and the whole welcome to travel team supported us with anything travel and working related. Once you finish the 8 days they’re there to help you during your whole stay. Please if you’re thinking of visiting Australia but feel hesitated or overwhelmed please book your trip with these guys and you won’t be dissapointed!

    I would 100% recommended this trip to anyone starting out in Australia, it was the best thing I ever did I met the most amazing group of people and not only that the staff are incredible! They couldn’t do enough to help you and even after the week is done they are still there for you no matter what you need.

    Amazing! What a way to start my journey of traveling Australia. The people, the vibe, the city, everything was spot on. I met incredible friends that I will hold close to my heart forever... Also Clouds (Claudia) our tour guide was TOP KNOTCH. If you’re afraid take my advice and book it you won’t regret it. Best 8 days of my life... HAVE SO MUCH FUN YOU DESERVE IT! (and take tons of pictures, you’ll wanna look back on them!) xx
